We took Amy to her first 5K on December 6th. The town of Snohomish set up a race to chase the Grinch out of town. As the Grinch was being played by a friend of ours, we thought it was important to give him a good run.
It was a cold morning, but we were excited to get out and get a little exercise. Much to our disappointment, this particular race didn't allow strollers. We were a little short on time so we actually just kept Amy in her Christmas pajamas and swept her off to the race. She hadn't gotten to eat before the race, but was a sweetheart for most of it.
Towards the end of the race, she was letting us know that she was a little cold and hungry so Steve and I moved a little faster than our initial walking pace to get back to the start line.
At the race, we met up with Carrie and Chrissy. We joined them for brunch afterwards, along with Glen who had actually been the Grinch for the race. It was so good to get out and enjoy our first race since Amy's birth and see some of our favorite friends too!

Countdown to Christmas
As a surprise for Steve and the kids, I purchased a Lego Advent calendar this year. Legos are a very popular item around our house, so they were excited to get started on it.
Each day had a mini figure that could be assembled to add to the winter scene on the box.
We decided that Sean would get to open the Odd numbered days and Kate would get to open the Even numbered days.
